NAILED IT: The Body, Pain, & the Pursuit of Perfection

NAILED IT explores the body, pain, and the pursuit of perfection in the context of ballet and modern dance training. Dance and art can both be outlets for expression, but they can also demand high levels of achievement. These works examine this tension through paintings, sculpture, and fibers. By combining ideas of scale, gesture, and distortion, they examine the question "How does control encourage or impede the creative process?"

This MFA body of work was on display April 23 - May 5, 2019 in the Stark Education Gallery at the Memorial Student Center on Texas A&M's campus.
